I started to read when I first came into the US. I had just arrived and didn't know any English, so I had to learn how to read through books. My foster parents used to buy me books and I would read all the time to the point where it became a habit. I used to read in my room all the time, or I would go outside and lay in the grass while I read there. I still read in my room from time to time but not as much like I used to. I love reading fiction and mystery books because they are much better than the other ones. Fiction books for me are like an imagination in my head where I can live in the book I'm reading about and forget everything else from the real world. fairy tales are also one of my favorites because they help you to go and live in the book while you imagine being in that beautiful place. My favorite books of all are just listen by Sarah Dessen because it's a fiction book that has so much to learn from in life, and the hidden staircase by Carolyn Kenee because it has so much mystery to be solved by non other but my favorite Nancy drew. I don't like reading non-fiction books because they are too real and boring for me. My experience in reading is having to know how to speak and write English better than before I started reading.
